Whether you're visiting for the first time or have walked with us for years, here's what most people want to know about our worship, our faith, and our community.
Our main Sunday worship service begins at 12:00 Noon. We also gather midweek for Bible study on Wednesdays from 7:00–8:00 PM, and our Youth Fellowship meets Tuesdays at 7:00 PM. A Monthly Prayer Vigil is held for focused prayer and spiritual renewal.
Anglican worship follows a liturgy — a shared order of service with set prayers, Scripture readings, a sermon, and Holy Communion. You'll find printed or projected guides to help you follow along, and there's no expectation that you'll know every response right away. Many parts involve standing, sitting, or kneeling at different points; simply follow the lead of those around you.
Above all, come as you are. You're welcome to participate fully or simply observe — whichever feels right for where you are in your journey.
There's no strict dress code. Many in our congregation dress in their Sunday best out of reverence, including traditional Nigerian attire, while others come more casually. Wear whatever helps you feel comfortable and ready to worship.
Yes. Our Children's Ministry nurtures the youngest members of our church family, and our Youth Fellowship meets weekly on Tuesday evenings to build community, faith, and discipleship among young people. Families are always welcome to worship together on Sundays as well.
Our worship is rooted in the Igbo Anglican tradition, and you'll find elements of Igbo language and culture woven into our hymns, fellowship, and community life. Services are accessible to English speakers, and visitors from any background are warmly welcomed.
All Saints GTA is an Anglican church community based in Mississauga, Ontario, dedicated to nurturing faith, fostering fellowship, and sharing the teachings of Christ within the Igbo Anglican tradition. We are a growing, multi-generational congregation — curious newcomers and longtime members alike are welcome.
Many of our members trace their roots to the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), one of the largest Anglican provinces in the world, where Anglican worship has been shaped by Igbo language, music, and culture for generations. At All Saints GTA, we carry that heritage forward — blending historic Anglican liturgy with the warmth, music, and hospitality of Igbo Christian life — while remaining open to all who seek a deeper walk with God, regardless of background.
Our Rector is the Venerable Barnabas C. Emenogu, PhD, who also chairs our Parish Church Council (PCC). He is supported by Assistant Priests, a music and choir director, wardens, and a council of dedicated lay leaders who oversee the life and administration of the parish. The PCC is our parish's governing body, much like a church board. It's made up of clergy, wardens, and elected lay members who work together to steward the life, finances, and mission of All Saints GTA — a structure common across Anglican parishes worldwide.

Anglicans hold to the historic Christian faith as expressed in Scripture and summarized in the ancient creeds of the Church — chiefly the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. At the heart of our belief is the Holy Trinity: one God, eternally Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We affirm that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, that He died for the sins of the world, rose bodily from the dead, and will come again.
Anglican doctrine has historically been summarized in the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion and taught through the Book of Common Prayer, including its catechism — a question-and-answer summary of the Christian faith used to instruct believers of all ages.
Scripture holds the central place. We believe the Bible is God's Word, given through the Holy Spirit, and that it contains everything necessary for salvation. Anglican theology has traditionally been described as drawing on a balance of Scripture, tradition, and reason — but always with Scripture as the final authority by which tradition and reason are tested.
We stand in the historic Anglican tradition and trace our spiritual roots through the Igbo Anglican heritage of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) — one of the largest and fastest-growing provinces in global Anglicanism. Our parish operates under the oversight of the Anglican Diocese of Canada (formerly the Anglican Network in Canada, ANiC), a diocese of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA).
ACNA and the Anglican Diocese of Canada affirm the Jerusalem Declaration of the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) and are recognized as orthodox Anglican partners by a majority of the world's Anglican provinces, including the Church of Nigeria, even though ACNA is not currently one of the official Instruments of Communion recognized by the Archbishop of Canterbury. In short: we hold to the historic faith, doctrine, sacraments, and discipline received by Anglicans worldwide, in fellowship with biblically faithful Anglican provinces across the globe.
Anglicanism grew out of the English Reformation and carries forward much of the liturgical structure, sacramental life, and historic church order of the wider Christian tradition, while affirming Reformation convictions about the authority of Scripture and salvation by grace through faith. It's often described as holding together the "catholic" (historic, sacramental) and "evangelical" (Bible-centered, gospel-focused) strands of Christianity — both/and rather than either/or.
A catechism is a short summary of Christian belief, traditionally taught in a question-and-answer format. The Anglican catechism — found in the Book of Common Prayer — covers core topics including the Creeds, the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, and the Sacraments. We draw on this catechetical tradition in preparing members for baptism, confirmation, and church membership. Speak with one of our clergy if you'd like to begin catechism instruction.
Anglicans recognize Baptism and the Holy Communion (Eucharist) as the two sacraments instituted by Christ Himself, central to the life of every believer. We also observe additional rites of grace, sometimes called the "sacramental rites," including Confirmation, Holy Matrimony, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, and Ordination.
Baptized Christians from any denomination who are in good standing with their own church are welcome to receive Holy Communion with us. If you have not been baptized, or would simply prefer not to receive the elements, you're welcome to come forward for a blessing instead, or to remain seated in quiet prayer — there's no pressure either way.

Yes. Our clergy are glad to officiate weddings and conduct funeral or memorial services for members of our church family. Please contact us as early as possible to begin planning, since these services typically involve pastoral preparation and scheduling in advance.
There's no barrier to simply worshipping with us as often as you like. If you'd like to formally join as a member — and become eligible to serve on committees, vote at parish meetings, or take on ministry leadership — speak with our Rector or one of the wardens, who can walk you through the next steps.
